Hendi Products: more than Compliance with the European Legislation
Since the last few years, European electrical equipment and gas appliances are required to bear a CE certificate. This mark guarantees a minimum level of safety to the user of the product. Hendi goes a step further; based on risk analysis and extensive experience, Hendi guarantees an even higher safety level.

Extensive Final Inspection of Equipment
All Hendi equipment and products only find their way to the customer after strict quality inspections have determined that they have passed the test. For example, all Hendi gas appliances are subjected to complete quality inspection by authorised staff who use professional testing equipment, also used by official quality authorities such as KIWA.

Fully Automated Specification Management System
From purchase to delivery, from raw material to end product: all steps are thoroughly documented at Hendi Food Service Equipment. All electrical and gas appliances are provided with a serial number or a barcode. This allows for all products to be thoroughly traced and for test reports to be quickly available.

Hendi is committed to the improvement of working conditions
Hendi is affiliated to the European organization BSCI. The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is an initiative of companies committed to improving working conditions in the global supply chain.

All BSCI participants commit to implement the BSCI Code of Conduct in their supply chains. This code contains the guidelines which firms must comply with. These guidelines are based on the most important international conventions for the protection of labour rights of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations (UN). BSCI provides companies with practical management instruments to implement BSCI’s Code of Conduct and monitor, through audits, improvements of working conditions in the supply chain.

Goals of BSCI Code of Conduct:

  • Freedom of association and collective bargaining.
  • No discrimination.
  • Child labour is prohibited.
  • Legal minimum and/or industry standard wages are paid.
  • Working hours are compliant with national laws and do not exceed 48 hours regular + 12 hours overtime.
  • No forced labour.
  • The workplace is safe and healthy.
  • The environment is respected.
  • There is a policy for social accountability.
  • A policy against bribery and corruption.

Why is Hendi member of BSCI?
A large number of our products are made in countries where good working conditions are not a matter of course. We believe it is our important responsibility to contribute to the improvement of working conditions. Through the BSCI program we help our suppliers to see what changes to make in order to improve working conditions and stay in compliance with the standards.
